CAB-531-1 is a high-performance cellulose ester with higher butyryl content than the CAB-381 series, offering superior flexibility and reduced plasticizer requirements. This product shares similar hydroxyl content and solubility characteristics with CAB-381, dissolving in various solvents to form clear colorless solutions. When combined with thermoplastic acrylic resins, it produces tough films with excellent mar and weather resistance. Widely applicable in automotive OEM/plastic coatings, wood finishes, metal coatings, nail polish, and commercial vehicle coatings, it provides durable, high-quality surface solutions.
Our production base was founded in September 2014 with a registered capital of 50 millions Chinese Yuan, occupying an area of 54,500 square meters, certificates of lS09001, ISO14001, lS045001, EU REACH registration certificate. Our Cellulose Acetate Butyrate CAB-381 and CAB-551 annual capacity is 10000 tons and Cellulose Acetate CA 6000 tons.

White powderCAB-531-1 is a high-performance cellulose ester sourced from natural cellulose, supplied in the form of a dry white powder. Compared with the CAB-381 series, it has a higher butyryl content, which provides improved flexibility and processing adaptability. CAB-531-1 and CAB-381 esters have similar hydroxyl content and solubility characteristics, and both are soluble in a wide range of organic solvents, forming clear, colorless solutions in appropriate solvent systems, making them suitable for applications with high appearance requirements.
Owing to its greater inherent flexibility, CAB-531-1 requires lower levels of plasticizer modification and shows good compatibility with thermoplastic acrylic resins, enabling the formation of tough films with excellent resistance to marring and weathering. In addition, CAB-531-1 is based on renewable cellulose resources, and its bio-content is estimated to be approximately 38% based on the proportion of bio-based carbon atoms in its molecular structure, reflecting its value as a partially sustainable high-performance material.
CAB-531-1 is highly versatile and compatible with a wide range of applications across different industries. In the automotive sector, it can be used in OEM automotive coatings, coatings for automotive plastics, and lacquers for automotive finishes, providing excellent durability, weather resistance, and a smooth, high-quality finish. Its compatibility with modified resins, such as CAB-551-0.2, makes it ideal for wood coatings, plastic coatings, and metal coatings, offering enhanced flexibility and toughness. Additionally, CAB-531-1 is suitable for nail care products like nail polish, where it contributes to a smooth, long-lasting finish. It is also well-suited for coatings used on trucks, buses, and commercial vehicles, where its high resistance to wear and environmental factors ensures the longevity and aesthetics of the coatings.
