Cellulose Acetate Propionate CAP 482 20

Cellulose acetate propionate (CAP) is a semi-synthetic cellulose ester produced through the esterification of natural cellulose with acetic acid and propionic acid, combining bio-based origin with chemical stability and broad compatibility. Its high propionyl content, non-toxic nature, and tunable physical properties make it a valuable resin for solvent-borne inks, specialty coatings, and overprint varnishes. CAP delivers excellent pigment wetting, broad solubility in esters, ketones, and glycol ethers, and compatibility with a wide range of plasticizers and film-forming resins. It can also be used to produce flexible packaging coatings, optical films, cellulose acetate propionate plastics, and CAP membranes. Additionally, it is utilized in high-performance ink systems where clarity, flow, and durability are required. 

Cellulose Acetate Propionate CAP-504-0.2 is a low-odor, low-color, free-flowing powder with 5.0% hydroxyl content, providing excellent crosslinking potential. It dissolves quickly, is water-tolerant, and resists souring. With a low viscosity (0.2 seconds) and 42.5% propionyl content, it forms a clear, colorless solution. It offers UV light resistance and strong adhesion to plastics. CAP-504-0.2 is widely used in coatings, printing inks, automotive (OEM, plastics, refinishing), lighting, non-food contact films, electronic hardware, paints, photographic films, polymer modification, and process additives, demonstrating broad industry applicability.

Cellulose Acetate Propionate CAP-482-20 is a white powder made from renewable cellulose. It has similar solubility and compatibility to CAP-482-0.5, but with higher viscosity. When dissolved in appropriate solvents, it forms a clear, colorless solution with great oil resistance and minimal odor. It is used in inks, varnishes, nail lacquers, automotive, industrial electronics, packaging films, lighting, LCD displays, paints, coatings, and textiles.
