Dodecanediacetic acid is white powdery which is less soluble in water, but better soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol. After decomposing or polymerizing, it has no reaction at normal temperature and pressure. The product is difficult to burn. It has good thermal stability.

The toxicity of dodecanediacetic acid is very low, but it is irritating to mucous membrane and skin.
