In a stunning Move, LB Group tripled its TiO₂ prices in Just one month! It is believed that sulfuric acid-based titanium dioxide is expected to remain within the range of 14,500–16,000 yuan per ton, while chloride-based titanium dioxide is projected to stay within the range of 16,000–18,000 yuan per ton over the next three months.
On March 24, LB Group is announced a price adjustment for its entire range of “Xuelian” brand titanium dioxide products, Increased by 500 yuan per ton on March 2, increased by 500 yuan per ton on March 16, and increased by 1,000 yuan per ton on March 24.
Beside LB group, other 23 titanium dioxide producers followed suit with price hikes, with domestic increases ranging from 700 to 1,000 yuan per ton and international increases generally set at $150 per ton.
First, there has been a sharp rise in the cost of sulfuric acid, a key upstream raw material. Sulfur is the core raw material for producing sulfuric acid, and the sulfuric acid process for manufacturing titanium dioxide consumes 3–4 tons of sulfuric acid per ton of product (equivalent to approximately 1.3–1.5 tons of sulfur). This year, the price of sulfur has surged by more than 70%.
Second, there is strong export demand coupled with low inventory levels. In the first two months of 2026, China’s titanium dioxide exports rose by 21.8% year-over-year, with a trade surplus reaching $213.62 billion. Meanwhile, the global supply side faces pressure from contraction and industry consolidation; for example, since 2023, a cumulative 1.1 million metric tons of titanium dioxide production capacity has been shut down worldwide.
Overall, significant uncertainty remains regarding sulfur and sulfuric acid prices in the short term. In the near term, prices for sulfuric acid-based titanium dioxide are expected to remain within the range of 15,000–16,000 yuan per ton, while prices for chloride-based titanium dioxide are projected to stay within the range of 16,000–18,000 yuan per ton.
About China AAB Industry Technology Group
Facing price fluctuations and supply uncertainties in the titanium dioxide market, China AAB Industry Technology Group leverages its strong production capacity, diverse product portfolio, international certifications, and extensive industry experience to provide global customers with stable, reliable, and high-quality titanium dioxide and mineral filler solutions.
We operate two major mineral filler production bases in Yantai and Haicheng, with an annual production capacity of more than 150 tons. This substantial capacity reserve enables us to maintain a stable supply even during periods of significant market volatility, effectively mitigating the risk of price surges caused by upstream supply constraints and ensuring reliable supply security for our customers.
