Dispersing Agent For Eliminating Floating and Flooding in Ink Systems and Solvent-Based Coating

Designed as both a wetting and dispersing additive, KBS-6104S works by inducing controlled flocculation of pigments and fillers, thereby improving pigment wetting and stabilizing dispersions. As a result, it effectively prevents color floating, blooming, and hard settling. This additive performs well in medium- to high-polarity environments and is particularly useful in formulations where titanium dioxide is used alongside other colored pigments—helping to avoid color separation. It is also compatible with amine-neutralized and waterborne coatings. However, it should not be mixed with solvent gasoline. In antirust primer formulations, KBS-6104S frequently enhances corrosion protection. Furthermore, the product contains a minor amount of polysiloxane copolymer, which boosts its anti-floating efficiency. The silicone content also minimizes Bernard swirls and streaks, improves surface slip and leveling, and optimizes the orientation of matting agents or aluminum flakes, often making additional silicone additives unnecessary.

In the aforementioned experiments, KBS-6104S demonstrated certain anti-settling capabilities. It is worth noting that its anti-settling effect varies depending on the resin system, for example, in acrylic, alkyd, polyester, and Epoxy 828 systems.

Limitations: This product has limited compatibility with petroleum solvents or systems diluted with petroleum solvents. When post-added in epoxy floor coatings, it may increase viscosity and slightly affect gloss and leveling.
