As of April 2, 2026, epoxy resin prices remain stable but at elevated levels. In East China, liquid resin (E-51) is quoted around ¥19,000/ton, while solid resin (E-12) in Huangshan stands at approximately ¥16,400/ton.
The price stability can be attributed to the mutual restraint between cost support and weak demand:
Cost support persists: Upstream raw materials bisphenol A (BPA) and epichlorohydrin (ECH) posted slight declines this week, with East China prices at approximately ¥11,400/ton and ¥13,200/ton, respectively. Despite this softening, raw material prices remain relatively high, providing some cost support for epoxy resins and limiting producers' room for price concessions.
Demand remains weak: Downstream and end-user buyers show limited purchasing appetite, mostly consuming existing inventories or placing small, hand-to-mouth orders. Market transactions remain light. Facing sales pressure, some producers may offer minor discounts in negotiations, though mainstream offers have held steady.
Outlook: In the near term, the tug-of-war between cost support and sluggish demand is expected to continue. Solid epoxy resin E-12 prices are likely to remain range-bound at elevated levels, with limited upside due to slow demand recovery and limited downside supported by production costs. Market participants are advised to closely track upstream raw material price trends and downstream operating rates in sectors such as powder coatings.
